About
I have always been an artist — from my first crayons to wielding my current paintbrush.
A bi-coastal New Yorker and Northern Californian, I now live and paint in Gulfport, Florida. As a child I was constantly drawing, doodling, painting and nagging my parents for art classes. I attended Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, then took a more practical path and studied political science.
I spent most of my career in advertising, which shaped my creative point of view: it taught me the importance of clarity and attraction. Art wasn’t my profession, but it never stopped being my passion. Over the years I’ve shown work in oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, and even clay, and for several years I was captivated by paper collage and mixed media.
Moving to Florida gave me the time to make art a serious practice. Like yoga, I see art as a practice that takes commitment and a certain fearlessness. I am fearless. Today I’ve returned to the freedom of paint and canvas, working at a much larger scale in acrylics.
